Where we come from...?!

The Clan, or better Brotherhood, called "German Knights Order" was founded by two TotalWar veterans.

One of em, HelmeHaffax, made his way through different TW clans till he arrived here. He was one of the first members in a clan called "Desciples of Jupiter" (DOJ), as they recruited him in June 2005. He left DOJ in december 2005 to create the "New Order" (NO) with some close buds. NO ran really well for more than one year, before it got corrupted and exploited by some of its members which "fought" their own private war against each other. They did that on the rears of the other members. It was the time to make decissions and HelmeHaffax left NO to follow some of his buds into the "Skilled Knights" (-S_K-). -S_K- started with good intentions and the ones who wanted to lead brought up good ideas. But as fast as it started came the "sudden" death and -S_K- disbanded before it could establish itself in the TW community.

The other, LNDavout, is a first hour TW player. He plays the game since Shogun. He joined NO in 2006, while the clan had its best times. He made himself respected by a couple of members in and outside NO, especially on MTW II, and he became a welcome embassy on other forums. He also came along with -S_K- as NO broke into two pieces.

After -S_K- disbanded, some members got inactive, some decided to join or rejoin other clans and two, Helme and LND, were on the way for something different.
After hard days of training, a lot of "under-the-table-talking", some work on new forums and so on, they were ready to run the new clan offically!

At the beginning of the year 2008 the GKO started proceedings about a merge with other clans. At that point the GKO had a amazing reputation. The clan played some striking tourney matches that made them well known in the whole community. At February the 22nd, a new clan was formed out of the GKO and the NO: the Varangian Guard. New forums got created, a whole new system build up and new members came quickly. The clan had great times and the reunion with the old friends from NO were definitely a good idea. The merged clans walked together till November 2008. With the "dying" of TW also many of the Varangian members got inactive at the TW series till fall 2008. Up from November the GKO ventured a restart on its own. Up from now the clan is prepaing itself for the rise of Histwar and Empires...
